All choristers are boarders at King's, Ely.

All choristers automatically receive a 50% bursary to help with their education at King's, Ely during their time as a chorister. In addition, two vacancies offer potential extra funding (on a means - tested basis) for the boys concerned - in one instance throughout the whole of his time at King's, Ely, and in the other instance throughout his time as a chorister.

Future Voice Trials

The next voice trial will be held on Saturday 11 January, 2014 (for boys over 8 by September 2014). Intending applicants and their parents are invited to an informal pre-audition.

A short-list is then drawn up before Voice Trial Day. We are looking for a general alertness, a bright, intelligent attitude and signs of musical potential.

Formal voice training is not a pre-requisite. On the day, the tests include ear tests, voice tests, reading and academic tests and, if applicable, instrumental tests.
